Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A registered nurse with operating room expertise is sought for a rewarding contract position in Newark, NJ. This role focuses on providing exceptional perioperative care across a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, urology, orthopedic, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, advanced ENT, and spine procedures. The ideal candidate is skilled in both scrubbing and circulating during surgeries, supporting efficient and safe patient outcomes in a dynamic surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room setting.
• Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain sterile fields and patient safety.
• Adapt to varying case types with professionalism and expert knowledge.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines throughout shifts.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1.5 years of operating room nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification required; PALS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Ability to commit to block scheduling with specific shift patterns.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Schedule and Location:

• Night shifts, primarily 4x10-hour shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) scheduled two out of every three weekends.
• Block scheduling requests must be submitted and approved.
• Positioned in Newark, NJ, a vibrant urban setting with close proximity to cultural attractions, dining, and public transportation.
